Am I doing okay with money?
Here's the honest answer.
One number out of 100, eight ratios that explain it, and one small thing to do about it. Built on your numbers only. No comparisons to strangers, no products to sell you.
Two of these are locked. Their values never left our servers.
The problem
You have a salary you know, an EMI you resent, and a fund you forgot about.
What you do not have is a single view. And you certainly do not have a number you trust.
Bank apps
They show one bank's slice of your life. Never the whole picture, and never a verdict on it.
Budgeting apps
They track what already happened. They tell you that you spent too much on food. They do not tell you whether your life is structurally sound.
Advisors
Gated behind money and intimidation, and most are paid by the commission on what they sell you. You cannot tell where the advice ends and the pitch begins.
Free finance content
Written for nobody, so it fits nobody. Twelve acronyms before breakfast and not one of them is about you.
The score
One number, out of 100. Nothing about it is weighted.
6 areas to work on. Reveal them below.
How it is built
Each of the eight ratios is graded into one of three buckets. Each bucket is worth points. Your score is the plain average of the eight.
A thin emergency fund costs exactly as much as a weak inflation hedge. That is deliberate: every part of your financial life counts the same.
Your eight grades
490 points across 8 ratios · average 61
You always know where you stand
The score is computed from all eight ratios whether or not you have revealed any of them. You pay to find out why.
The floor is 25, not 0
Because the worst grade is worth 25 points rather than zero, the lowest score a finished card can show is 25, not 0.
It moves in steps
An average of grades, not a continuous calculation. Your score jumps when a ratio changes tier, and sits still in between.
How it works
Three steps. About three minutes. Zero sales pitches.

Answer seven short steps
Income, commitments, spending, assets, loans. Rough figures are fine and everything saves as you go, so you can stop anywhere and come back to the same spot.

See your card, fix one thing
Your score, your net worth, all eight ratios and a plain-language read with exactly three next actions. Then one focus goal, and only one.
We say seven steps and run about sixteen screens. That is not a trick. The seven counted steps are the ones where you type something. Every screen in between gives you something back instead of asking for more: what your income really means, what share of it is already spoken for, and a real score halfway through, before you have done any of the boring asset work.
The eight ratios
Eight questions you actually have.
Every one is graded against a line built for an Indian salaried life, where SIPs count as saving rather than spending and gold is a real asset.
Sorted worst first, the way the app sorts them. Problems at the top, wins below. A product designed to feel good would sort the other way.

Before you reveal
A locked ratio is never a blank.
It tells you what it found before you spend anything, so the gate reads as an invitation rather than a wall. And the value itself stays on the server, so there is nothing in this page to peek at.
We know how many months your safety net covers.
See it · 7We can see how hard your money is working.
See it · 16We can see how heavy your debt load is.
See it · 7We can see how much of what you own is borrowed.
See it · 7We can see how much is locked in property and gold.
See it · 7We checked whether inflation is eating your money.
See it · 16We know how much you could reach in a hurry.
See it · 7Net worth
Everything you own, minus everything you owe.
It sits directly under your score, with the split spelled out. It is not one of the eight ratios: it is the figure they are all describing.
It can be negative, and the app says so without softening it. When your liabilities exceed your assets, it tells you by how much, says that is fixable, and shows you the first lever to pull.
Two of your eight ratios are built on that split.
What is free, what is earned
The score is free because the feeling is the point.
Seeing "61/100" lands immediately, and you want to know why. So the number costs nothing. The detail behind it is the product, and you earn it by doing things that are good for you.
- Your health score out of 100
- Your net worth
- How many of your eight ratios look strong
- Your savings rate, the headline ratio
- A public share link to your score
Enough to be useful on its own. There is no trial clock and no card on file.
- The other seven ratios, one at a time and permanently
- Starting a focus goal
- A one-page PDF of your card
Enough for several reveals straight away, so nobody meets a gate before seeing real value.
Ways to earn
A focus goal costs 5 to start and pays 15 to finish, a net gain of 10. Someone who keeps climbing goals never really runs out.
The rules, in full
- Credits never expire. No resets, no decay.
- A revealed ratio is permanent. No rent, no re-locking.
- A focus goal costs 5 and pays 15, a net gain of 10.
- Credits are earned today, not bought. There is no purchase flow.
- The first 200 people to register keep a flat 6 credits on every ratio, premium included, permanently.
The word we will not use
"Unlock" never appears anywhere you can read it. It is always "reveal" or "see it".
One sounds like a paywall. The other sounds like a discovery. Your balance is described by what it can do, never as a quantity you are burning through.
The focus goal
Your score says where you stand. Your focus goal says what to do next.
Fincard takes your weakest ratio and turns it into one action. Not a list. One. It stays until you have really moved it, which is why it is a focus goal and not a weekly one.
-
Weak savings rate
Get your savings rate above 20%.
Pick one variable category and cut 15% for the next month.
-
Thin emergency fund
Build your emergency fund to 6 months.
Park your next two months of surplus into a liquid fund.
-
Heavy debt
Bring debt to income under 30%.
Pre-pay your highest-rate loan with this month's surplus.
And when nothing is weak, it says so: "You're firing on all cylinders."
The loop
Your weakest ratio
Your goal
Build your emergency fund to 6 months.
Park your next two months of surplus into a liquid fund.
There is no button here. This completes on its own the moment the ratio really climbs a tier, so a win is measured and never claimed.
Our principles
What Fincard refuses to do.
Several of these were built, shipped, and then taken back out again once we looked at what they were doing.
It does not fabricate credibility
Earlier versions claimed "more than 90% of households in your city", ranked users in the "top quarter of urban Indian households", showed a testimonial from someone who did not exist and a user count that was not counted. All of it was removed. None of it was true.
Copy talks about your own numbers only.
It does not flatter
Your ratios sort worst first, so the screen opens on the problem rather than the win. The focus goal targets your weakest area and completes only when the number really moves.
A product designed to feel good would sort the other way.
It does not pretend to be an advisor
A bar sits at the bottom of every screen where you linger: educational use only, not SEBI-registered advice, some insights are AI-assisted. It links to the full disclosures.
Not SEBI-registered, and we say so rather than bury it.
It does not fake a locked value
A locked ratio is withheld on the server, not blurred in the interface. There is no hidden number in the page to find, and nothing to peek at.
Locked means the value never left our machines.
It does not use the language of extraction
The word "unlock" never appears anywhere you can read it. It is always "reveal" or "see it", because one sounds like a paywall and the other sounds like a discovery.
Your balance is described by what it can do, never as a quantity you are burning through.
Security
Your data, locked down.
Your financial inputs are the most sensitive thing you give us, so we treat them that way. Encrypted, hosted in jurisdictions with strong protection, and never shared with anyone outside Fincard.
AES-256 encryption at rest
Every number you enter is encrypted on disk. Even our own engineers can't read your raw data without going through audited access tooling.
TLS 1.2+ in transit
Every byte between your browser and our servers travels over modern TLS. No mixed content, no plaintext credentials, ever.
Hosted in India + EU
Production data sits in data centres located in India and the European Union. We don't transfer your personal data to jurisdictions without adequate protection.
Zero third-party sharing
We don't sell, rent, or trade your data, not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to financial institutions. Our revenue comes from users, never from commissions.
DPDP Act 2023 aligned
Access, correct, or erase your data anytime. Withdraw consent, raise a grievance, nominate a representative: every right India's DPDP Act gives you, we honour.
A locked ratio is withheld, not blurred
Values you have not revealed never leave our servers, so there is nothing hidden in the page to dig out. The same locks apply inside your PDF.
Read more in our Privacy Policy · We are not a SEBI-registered investment advisor.
The share link
A public page carrying a first name, the score, and "5 of 8 strong". No rupee figures, no individual ratios, nothing you would regret putting on WhatsApp.
Free because sharing grows the product. Stripped bare because a finance app that leaks your net worth to a link does not deserve trust.
The one-page PDF
A card worth keeping, and it respects the same locks as the app. Ratios you have not revealed stay hidden in the document too.
A polished artifact, not a cheaper back door around the reveal. The file is generated before you are charged, so a failure never costs you.
Referrals
25 credits each way, and only once your friend actually finishes their own card. Not on signup, not on a click.
The reward tracks the outcome that matters. Self-referral is blocked, and each pair pays out exactly once.
It should feel like an app, not a website in a frame.
Same product, native wrapper. It needs Fincard to be reachable: it is not a standalone product.

What we are building next
From a quiz to an instrument
Today Fincard asks you to type your numbers, which is friction, and invites error and staleness. India's Account Aggregator framework lets you consent to share your real bank and investment data. With it, the card fills itself and stays current.
Your card fills itself
Consent once through India's Account Aggregator framework and your balances arrive on their own.
A score that stays current
Today the card is a snapshot of what you remembered on a Tuesday. Connected, it is a living reading.
Consent you can withdraw
Account Aggregator access is granted by you, scoped by you, and revoked by you at any time.
Advisers, matched not sold
Verified local professionals matched to the parts your read just flagged. We take nothing from them.
Are you an MFD, insurance agent, CA, or planner?
Join the Fincard Adviser Network. We match you with people whose read has just flagged the gap you fix, in your city. We take no commission from you and none from them: clients pay you directly.
For financial professionals only. We don't share your email. Onboarding details and verification steps follow once matchmaking opens in your city.
